Settling in!

Well we are settling into life as parents! It's definitely not easy, but he's just so cute that I can't complain. I lost 30+ pounds in 2 weeks, but I've got 20 to lose before I'm back at my pre-pregnancy weight, which is still 20 pounds-ish higher than I want to be! So I've got a long journey ahead of me to lose it. But I will! 

We have had a lot of struggles in our first couple of weeks home. Poor baby boy has thrush, I had mastitis/thrush... It has been a rough transition.

9 weeks young

Our sweet boy is in his 8th week and will be 9 weeks old on Saturday! It's bizarre. It feels so long ago but sometimes it feels like I was just pregnant with him yesterday! He's growing so fast! Today is his 2 month appointment! He's starting to smile and coo, put weight on his legs and lift that little head up. He's in love with variations of the Psych theme song, chin tickles, and Josh Groban's Christmas album. He grabs mama's hair too! He's taking 6-8 ounces every 4 hours or so now. He's got the prettiest blue eyes and cutest dimple in his right cheek. He's got a stork bite exactly like his dad. He loves to sit up with everyone. He's such a happy boy. He's still trying to fit in size 1 diapers but could really use a 2 (or rather we are trying to make the size 1's last!). He's almost DOUBLED his birth weight! Mama has lost 39 pounds of pregnancy weight gain (10 more to go!). The gummy smile of his makes me cry sometimes! He's so perfect. Here are some pictures:

We finally got to bring our boy home! Benjamin Elliott is doing great :) I will write more later, but I'm newborn baby tired ;)

Our sweetest baby is on room air and is doing wonderful! I got to do some skin to skin (kangaroo care) with him yesterday and it was HEAVEN! I got to lay with him for about 3 hours, and I could have just held him forever. He is a darling and I just love him! Nathan and I both changed a couple of diapers and held him a lot. We both are overwhelmed by the cuteness and the fact that we made him! Today I get to kind of start a breastfeeding schedule for him, so I'm excited about that! Here's some more cuteness:
